For being such a big brand campsite (Montebell) and the most expensive I've stayed at on the pilgrimage so far, I expected a lot more. There are no showers, not even coin showers. You can use the nearby onsen for an extra 500 yen. There are signs saying not to drink the water from the kitchen area sinks, so you will need to buy bottled water from the vending machines. There are no trash cans at the camping area, nor do they provide a trash bag. On the map, it may appear that there are good food options nearby, however, they are connected to the toll road and I couldn't find any pedestrian points.
Also, you have to check in and return the box keys to the mont bell store which is about 10 minutes away by foot and up 10 flights of stairs. That is also where the only trash cans available are.
It functions as a safe, legal place to make camp for a night, but I would plan to camp for a rest day here.
