A lovely guest house. I didn’t see a shower but it didn’t really matter as there’s an onsen within walking distance and so you can shower and take a nice bath and sauna there. The guest house is very clean and there are many nice places to eat nearby.
Wonderful place to stay in a well renovated traditional Japanese (Henro) house with tatami mats, sliding doors, old wooden beams and everything else you would expect. You can also book it through the Henro House website. They don't have dormitories, so you get your own space for an affordable price. Since January 2023 it's 3300 Yen per night, 300Y for breakfast and 200Y for the washing machine. It is very conveniently located directly on the pilgrims route, 400 meters from temple 23 and its onsen you could use for 650Y all day. The guesthouse is run by a very lovely couple in their mid forties, originally from Tokyo who speak great English as well. There is a communal area at the entrance which can also be turned into a bar when the local spirits are brought to the table. Highly recommended.
