A largish hotel in the middle of Uchiko township on the main road through town. A number of bus stops are just outside.
Rooms: Standard modern western style hotel rooms with ensuite bathroom. As would be expected in a hotel of this type. My room was 5280 Yen with breakfast.
Food: I did not have tea in the Hotel, rather I sought out a local restuarant across the road and along a bit. Breakfast was a buffet arrangement in their dining room on the ground floor. It was odd for me as it was the first time I had seen a buffet consisting chiefly of non European type dishes. I eschewed the piles of boxed natto, but there was sufficient rice, a little egg and a crumbling of nori makes a good breakfast for a fussy eater. Even an umiboshi at the end.

---oooOOOooo---
I stopped at the Hotel AZ in Uchiko. Hotel Az, bro. (New Zealand accent!). At 5 pm I could hear the council chimes playing. Doing some rough calculations I guessed I was at kilometre 695 of the pilgrimage. If I can walk an average of 15 km per day for the next six days, that would give me another 90 km. About 780 in total. And I would be in Matsuyama, the capital city of the prefecture.
