Hōjōsuigun Youth Hostel

I agree with everything the previous reviewer had to say. The guy that runs this is really great, super helpful and really friendly. Great food. But it is messy. The room was clean enough as was the bathroom and laundry was free. The dogs are sweet but the place is somewhat chaotic in its housekeeping. If that won’t bother you definitely stay here but if neatness is your thing this may want to book elsewhere. We had a good stay. And great help with further bookings.

This is a quite different place to most stays on the henro way, not neat like you might be used to, but the owner is very nice and speaks English. He served delicious food with many homemade things like tofu, yogurt, jam and freshly baked bread for breakfast! There are dogs here, including a very cute puppy (November 2022), so you mustn't be allergic to (or mind the smell of) dogs - they were already in my room when I arrived.
